Formally UK Managing Director of GroupM Digital.  Since joining in 2009, Jakob has founded the GroupM audience company Xaxis UK, of which he is a Board member, and also sits on the WPP European Digital Advisory Board. Jakob has a team of 6 senior directors reporting to him, managing the growing Digital P&L for the UK, which consists of 115 people. Jakob is also part of the GroupM UK Senior management team, driving the strategy of GroupM UK.

Jakob’s remit has seen him develop in conjunction with Irwin Gotlieb, the GroupM Addressable TV (ATV) strategy, as well as setting up the ATV company in the UK.  He has been instrumental in changing the trading strategy in the UK (GroupM is the largest media buyer globally), which is now being implemented in other key markets.  Jakob has also developed the GroupM Technology strategy, enabling the Planning/Buying Process to operate across GroupM’s propriety technology, introduced and optimised 3rd party technology.

Prior to Jakob’s appointment to GroupM, he was the Western Europe Sales Director for Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions.  Jakob joined Microsoft in 2002 as the Sales and Trade Marketing Manager for MSN Denmark and prior to that was a Sales Executive at Business IT, a software company.  Jakob founded QPeople A/S and Handsoffmedia A/S, two digital marketing companies in Denmark.

Jakob started his career in Asset Management working for Dexia Bank Denmark and holds a Master of Science degree from Copenhagen Business School.
